I dig people of action. I love watching people with a vision sprint toward their goal with everything they have. It’s hard not to be inspired by such fervor.

Enter Stan. He’s launched a clothing company whose aim it is to provide for those in need with a chunk of the proceeds. What a champ.

The latest step is to get $50,000 from Pepsi to further this mission of bringing change to the world. The Pepsi Refresh Project awards $1.3million to the highest-voted ideas so those ideas can take a huge leap forward in progress.

For Sale

For those who read this here blog via a Feed Reader of some sort, you may not have noticed that I threw in a new section here at the actual site. I’ve started a small list of things for sale that I hope to add to as time goes on. I think I’ve run out of physical room for much of the stuff I’ve accumulated so I’m hoping to find a new home for some of these things with you guys.

If you’re bored, please take a look and see if there’s anything that strikes your fancy. Happy browsing.

As you may already be aware (for those who care, anyway), the NBA is back. I don’t know how the Rockets will fare this season because of some serious lineup changes but I will continue to show love when appropriate because, well, I am a lousy, fair-weather fan.

In celebration of the return of basketball, here’s a clip of the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade scoring past all of the Bulls’ defense.

Can you say brilliant?

For fans of The Beatle$, 09/09/09 will mark a new invasion.

The Fab Four will be made even more so when the remastered Beatle$ catalogue is released in September.

Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music have announced that as the date for the release of the entire original Beatle$ catalogue, digitally remastered.

That includes all 12 Beatle$ albums in stereo, with track listings and artwork as originally released in the UK. The package will also contain the LP version of “Magical Mystery Tour” (initially released as a double-EP in Britain, though available on CD since 1987) and the collections “Past Masters Vol. I and II” combined as one title.

The release marks the first time that the first four Beatle$ albums are being made available in their entirety on compact disc, and it also coincides with the release of “The Beatle$: Rock Band” video game.

Robert Levine, executive editor for Billboard, said the timing is genius in terms of marketing.

“Most bands, when they do a big project like this they pay for publicity,” Levine said. “The Beatle$ got paid for ‘Rock Band’ and then they are using that for publicity to rerelease a catalogue. It’s pretty amazing.”

“The songs have lasted for a long time because they are great songs,” he said. “It’s just that simple. Those are amazing, amazing albums.”
